Our Story
1963
In the beginning, several of our key members began their career in lapping, polishing, and grinding working for Lapco Industries. Lapco Industries, based in New Jersey, was a lapping, equipment, and consumables company that was started by Richard Pastor and Richard Stubenrauch.

Lapco Industries started up a separate company called Technalap Inc. Technalap Inc. sold new and refurbished lapping equipment and also provided consumers with consumable products for lapping, polishing, and grinding applications. During the years after such, Lapco Industries and Technalap Inc. exceeded sales of $1 million with 20 employees serving the U.S. East Coast market.

2001
Lapco Industries and Technalap Inc were acquired by Stahli. Stahli is a machine tool provider in the lapping and fine grinding industry providing lapping and machine tool services throughout Europe. Stahli also has a USA headquarters in Wauconda IL. To be able to focus on equipment sales, it was decided in May of 2003 that Stahli was to sell the contract lapping operations in Lake Wylie, SC.
Ramon Guzman, President, and Ralph Hardt, Senior Partner, purchased Lapco from Stahli and formed Lap Tech Industries. Lap Tech Industries consists of a staff with a combined experience of over 100 years in the lapping, polishing, and fine grinding applications.

2014
Since the inception of Lap Tech, there has been continued growth. Such growth resulted in our relocation and expansion from Lake Wylie to York, South Carolina.
Lap Tech is now a multi-million-dollar company with a national reputation. Due to its capabilities and installed capacity Lap Tech Industries has become the largest independent precision grinding and finishing facility in the South Eastern United States.
Lap Tech provides lapping, flat honing or fine grinding, double disc grinding, polishing, deburring, honing, and other related precision finishing services.
With its continued growth and expansion, Lap Tech now operates out of two facilities, with the primary facility being 1605 Timberland Court, York S.C. Lap Tech continues to invest in its operations and personnel, resulting in state of the art equipment and services for its customers.
